Think you’re good at picking up ladies? Perhaps you’re terrible at it and would like to see how the real playas do it. Imagine a television show that would discretely follow real playas around the club with hidden cameras to see how they do it. Gentlemen, ladies… I give you Keys To The VIP.
Nestled in some of the hottest Toronto clubs, we secretly watch the antics of two playas slithering their way across the floor looking for women. Each week two contestants go head to head in a series of three challenges that test their abilities to seduce women within a varying time limit. The winner then gets escorted by a handful of models to a VIP party.
Throughout the show, a jury of four hosts analyze and discuss each player’s performance as it unfolds. There’s Alen, a smooth talking playa who cuts straight to the chase with no time for fluff; Chris, who blends charisma, respect and ideology into a good looking love package; Peachez, the tough-guy jock known for his witty humour and game day seduction technique; finally there’s Sheldon, an unassuming and versatile playa who’s technique adapts to that of his surroundings.
The excitement of the show comes from watching the approach of each contestant’s character and style. Some take a creative and sophisticated approach, while others come on strong and amaze you with charm and quick thinking. Challenges include convincing a woman to buy the playa a drink within a five minute timeframe, or turning cheesy pick up lines provided by the hosts into treasure. With such unpredictable reactions from the ladies, it’s amusing to watch these playas work their magic or go down in flames.
